  • SUMMARY - CobraNet Anatomy 101: a fully-functioning reference design for you to pull apart, reverse-engineer, and build something fit to your own gear without spending a ton on R&D.
  • DOCUMENTATION - Reference board kits have implementation guides, board schematics, PCB layouts and a BOM, so you have a solid footing for adapting the AT2216 to your application.
  • SOFTWARE API - You can control this board by sending it ASCII via serial HMI. We've fully documented the applicable commands so that you can jump in and start bossing bits around.
  • DEPLOY IT - It's a fully functional board, tested and ready to go. All you need is a network switch and you're ready to send 16-bit, 48kHz audio over CAT-5 in both directions. How easy is that?

AT2216 Reference Design Details

The AT2216 Reference Design shows the use of CobraNet LE technology for low cost CobraNet endpoint applications. The AT2216 is a highly integrated, cost-effective approach for CobraNet designs with two channels in and out. In addition to CobraNet audio networking, the AT2216 implements a serial host management interface (SHMI), serial bridging, eight GPIO pins, and eight 10-bit ADC channels.

Features

  • Unbalanced stereo analog inputs and outputs, on both RCA and 1/8" stereo mini jacks
  • I2S digital audio outputs available on a header
  • CobraNet Serial Bridge and SHMI functionality is fully supported, with logic levels available for both interfaces and RS-232 level signals available for one (jumperable)
  • Eight GPIOs which can be individually set as inputs or outputs, and written/read via the SHMI or via SNMP
  • Eight 10-bit ADCs which can be read via the SHMI, SNMP, or set to provide periodic updates via UDP packets
  • Complete reference design material included for the platform board: schematics, PCB layout, and BOM
